A Goldco IRA offer needs separate checks for the metal purchase, the custodian’s account agreement and the storage arrangement. This is a documentation review, with no account-opening or service test.
Separate the dealer from the account administrator
Goldco states that the IRA custodian provides the account statement. Its statement explanation also distinguishes a statement valuation from the purchase invoice and a dealer’s resale price. Request the legal names and agreements for the parties handling your account.
Get a complete fee schedule
- Account setup and administration charges.
- Storage and insurance charges, including the storage arrangement.
- Transaction, transfer, distribution and closure charges.
- Conditions and expiry dates for any fee waiver.
- The product invoice and the dealer’s method for calculating a resale bid.

Check the account rules separately
IRS guidance describes limited exceptions for eligible coins and bullion and the associated custody conditions. Confirm the actual product and arrangement with the custodian. A dealer description does not settle your funding or tax treatment.
Prepare an exit question
Ask what information the dealer needs to quote a sale of your exact holdings, how long the bid remains valid and which deductions apply. Confirm whether the custodian charges separately for a liquidation or distribution. A published buyback statement is not a binding bid for your holdings.
